While
the annual conference will influence the agenda for the coming year, the Sources
of Insecurity network has already determined the general form of two activities
we believe will be vital to promoting and extending the aims of the network.
The first type of event we anticipate supporting
on an annual basis is a series of master workshops
involving researchers, including early career researchers
and postgraduates, organised around collaborative
research projects.- Small master-class workshops. A series
of workshops comprising 20-40 people will be held
at various universities across Australia, drawing
upon the expertise of senior researchers and practitioners,
but also with invitations to early career researchers
and postgraduates. The workshops are intended as
forums for developing collaborative research projects
and will be directed primarily towards mentoring
programs and generating cross-disciplinary support
for younger academics.
The second type of event we will support is the thematic forum.
- Mid-size interdisciplinary forums. A series of these forums
will be organised around the key research
themes of the network, again allowing for cross-disciplinary participation.
The forums are intended to do the basic conceptual, analytical
and policy-oriented work with presentations of fundamental research
from both academics and practitioners in the field. The Globalism Institute has a strong history of supporting and presenting forums within the area of the network.
This website will act as the clearing house for such events and full
details of all activities will appear here as they become available. |
